Showing the achievements of the exhibition industry on the "Global Exhibitions Day" ceremony

Global Exhibitions Day Commemoration Ceremony was held at the location of Tehran International Permanent Fairground in accordance with the health protocols of the Corona headquarter with the presence of Advisor to the Minister of Industry - Mines and TradeChairman of the Board and Managing Director of the Islamic Republic of Iran International Exhibitions Company, Dr. Hassan Zamani; Chairman of the Cultural Infrastructure Development - Tourism and Parliament Exhibitions in the Islamic Parliament of IRAN, Ms. Hajar Chenarani;, Managers of the I.R.IRAN International Exhibitions Company, Managing Directors of the exhibition centers of the country, veterans and the staffs of the exhibition industry .

According to the reporting by the Public Relations and International Affairs of the I.R.IRAN International Exhibitions Company (I.I.E.C PR), this ceremony began with the recitation of a few verses from the Holy Quran and the playing of the anthem of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

At the beginning of the ceremony, Dr. Zamani, while congratulating the Global Exhibitions Day and welcoming the exhibition industry activists of the country; explained the situation of this industry in the world and noted that: “The exhibition industry annually holds more than 32,000 important international exhibitions around the world.”

He continued: "The participation of more than 5 million companies, institutions, organizations and the annual visit of 300 million people to the exhibitions shows the importance and special situation of the exhibition industry in the world.”

Adviser to the Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade, referred to the total turnover about 551 Billion Dollars on the exhibition industry & added: "This industry generates 334 Billion $ annually in revenue for exhibitors.”

In the second part of his speech, Dr. Zamani addressed the devastating effects of the Covid-19 virus on the state of the exhibition industry in 2020 and said: "The exhibition industry has lost 224 Billion Dollars due to the problems caused by this epidemic, and nearly 2 million and 400 thousand jobs were lost due to closures and recession, and we saw a 68% decrease in all fields of the exhibition industry.

He expressed and hoped that by reducing the effects of this disease, we will see more better days on the exhibition industry.

Chairman of the Board and Managing Director of the Islamic Republic of Iran International Exhibitions Company in the last part of his speech referred to the Expo 2020 Dubai ad said: “Expo will start as a largest exhibition - economic and cultural Olympics in October of this year, so, our country will play a great role in this event."

He stated that the pavilion of our country is one of the most beautiful pavilions among 198 countries and Iran pavilion has been selected as one of the 8 selected pavilions.

Dr. Zamani also continued: "We intend to show Iranian capabilities in various fields to the world in this great event.”

He emphasized: "We will provide the context for the foreign investors presence in more than 3,000 projects in the country at Expo Dubai.”

Dr. Zamani further added: "Iran pavilion is 2014 square meters and located in one of the best places of the expo, there is a meeting hall in front of our country pavilion and the pavilions of France and Chile are in its neighborhood."

At the end, he appreciated the activists of the exhibition industry in the provincial exhibition centers and the Sun City “Shahr-e-Aftab” exhibition complex in Tehran and expressed & hoped that with the support of everyone who involved in the exhibition industry, we can have an active presence in the expo event.

In continuing this ceremony, , President of the Exhibitions Association of the country Mr. Yarmohammadian; Member of Parliament, Ms. Chenarani and other activists of the exhibition industry spoke about the challenges, achievements and prospects of this industry .

Also in another part of the ceremony, memorial plaques were presented to the staffs and veterans of the exhibition industry, media activists and health observers for their efforts.

At the end of the ceremony, Deputy of the Exhibition Affairs of the I.R.IRAN International Exhibitions Company, Mr. Ghanbari, read the final statement in 6 articles.

It is noteworthy thatvisiting the exhibition museum, displaying the teasers and clips of exhibition activities and performing cultural and artistic programs were the other parts of this ceremony.
